I mentioned to Emilia that I was thinking about going out to shoot bricks as a study in textures. I believe that she is going to hold me to it. :-) So, here is one of the brick abstracts that I shot for Emilia.

It was just about sunset and I was SUPER cold. I had no business hand-holding my long lens for a shutter speed slower than 1/100". I'll need to go back and shoot this spot again when it's warmer out and a little bit lighter, so that I don't have to worry about being in a hurry or about hand holding. But I really like the shadows that the decorative "things" near the top are throwing.

Should I have cropped it closer at the top & bottom? I left those parts in on purpose to make the windows & bricks not look like they were floating ... but is it distracting? What are your thoughts?
