jan_piller 0 Posted February 19, 2008 It's really beautiful!! I find the focus a bit soft though and either bright or oversharpened. But what is really magnificent is the look you have captured - truly a masterpiece!! Nice job! Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted February 19, 2008 I didn't want to over sharpen everything and didn't want a really sharp eye either. She was really good for me last night. Wasn't sure if I like the color. Link to comment

iancoxleigh 0 Posted February 21, 2008 Micki, this is really great. I, like everyone else, love the hair here. I like how it is in focus near the eyes and fades out into a puddle of blur on the right. I like how it is so straight near here eyes and so curly on the right. This whole series of contrasting elements of the hair creates a strong diagonal flow to the composition that is pleasing. The intense light on the hair which never falls on the face is also a great dichotomy. The whisper of smile, the twinkle in the eye and with the hair pulled over half the face, all give a coquettish quality to the image. Link to comment
iancoxleigh 0 Posted February 21, 2008 Oh, I was going to say something about the tint since you had asked. I have a personal issue with yellow as a whole. Maybe that is why I find this too yellowy in tint -- particularly for skin. I'd probably go with a standard warm tone. Actually, I'd personally have a warm-tone shadow/slightly cool highlight duotone as I think that would flatter more. You see, this is all why I often think toning is one of the most personal of decisions in making a print. It relates to our own colour senses so fully and it can have such subtle and strong impact. If you don't feel the same way about yellows as I do, it is possible none of my comments will make much sense. Anyways, I did a duotone and it is attached (and purposely made the toning a little bit on the strong side to make sure it showed). Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted February 21, 2008 It was so hard to get it just right and I am still trying to figure out my silly new flat screen on my new laptop. It is lighter than my old one. I think the ohne you did gives it more of a dramatic look without making her look as sad. Yellow = sad I forget. :) Thanks ~ I'll change it for the web. This is why I get them critiqued. :) Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted February 22, 2008 :) At least it isn't Hockey ~ I coaxed her into doing these photo's as we have several Hockey games in a row coming up. Thank you for the visits. ~ micki Link to comment
lbattjes 0 Posted February 25, 2008 Good God...she is just gorgeous here...not that she isn't beautiful always, but here...wow! I like Ian's tint best, but I'm just speechless about this image. She's going to be breaking hearts left and right. :) One last thought...this shot..the lighting, the pose, the hair...makes me think old-time movie starlet. Just sayin'. :) Les Link to comment
JohnMWright 1 Posted March 6, 2008 Beautiful! I love how the one eye is hidden. Her expression is wonderful. I see additional crop options here, all on the right... all the way up to a square crop... all would work well. It is a tad soft on her eye. Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted March 6, 2008 I like what Ian did and such. I also like the crop like you said too. Only thing is I am trying to keep everything pretty much 4X6 right now like these as it goes in a set (for these series). Silly I know but I had to print them out at Walgreens (ha). Yep, don't laugh at me! HA HA HA Link to comment

sickboy666 0 Posted July 29, 2008 If she's your daughter, she has found the greatest pictural support she could! Brillant BW, soft light on her hair, this is so peaceful... Oh, by the way, she has a very pretty face. Thanks! Link to comment
mvisionphotography 1 Posted July 30, 2008 Yes, she gets tired of the "me practicing on her" I tell her all the time she has a PERFECT face to practice on :) ha Link to comment
