When we arrived at the camp where we stayed while at the Maasai Mara Game Reserve in Kenya, we were greeted by this sight. We were told that these are the bones of the guests who didn't follow the rules about not going outside the tent at night without an escort. :-D

I'm sorry that they clustered them all so close together. It is impossible to get any artistic photograph of a nice sun-bleached skull when displayed in this manner. But then I suppose the photographers are there to see live animals and not old dead ones.

I KNEW you were going to be the first to comment, Shawn!! :-) Yeah, I don't think that they were put there to be photographed, either. I think they were simply collected from the park at different points in time, and someone obsessive decided to arrange them by height. :-)

It never really occurred to me to get closer and shoot individual skulls....

Lou Ann...

There seem to be no human bones here... does this mean only animals didn't follow the park rules? (sol)

Brad - the guys who ran that camp were a riot. Have you been to DisneyWorld/Land? It was like the people who made announcements at Disney - they had a line for everything, and to US it was always amusing ... but I'm sure that to THEM it was the same "stupid" thing over and over. You oughta go there.... :-)
