Street Portrait

The B&W version of this photo. I wouls love to hear from you which of

the two versions you prefer. Anyway, many thanks for viewing and

rating + comments/suggestions if any.

... thought for sure when I first saw the b&w that I would prefer this version. But on reflection, they are really two different shots. This version is one that says, "a girl is alone, pensive, waiting and unsure," or something like that. The color versions says "THIS girl is alone, pensive, waiting and unsure." The specificity of the color version appeals to me more, I feel more empathy for her individually. An unexpected reaction.

Hi Dennis, many thanks for your personal analysis. I had not seen what you rightly described as "A Girl" versus "The Girl", but for sure I was myself very puzzled with very different perceptions conveyed by the two versions, of what at the end is the same photo (except the B&W and Colors). I found the 'test' very interesting and intriguing as well somehow... Thanks again for stopping by and taking the time to give feedback. Cheers, loic

 

Hi Loic, for me definitely the b&w. Not just because I have a preference for it but because I think it conveys better that absent and contemplating look which I think is the essence of this one.
