Mike, I get a real sense of community here, with these frame houses so close together. It is as if the people are staying close together to keep warm.

I like the previous poster's comment "It is as if the people are staying close together to keep warm".... The photo has a particular ambiance indeed... I like the 'straightforward' composition, and the way the light flows / leads to the middle (& moon) of the photo -- this being enhanced by the two white parked cars & lit snow...

I appreciate your taking time on this picture, & I like your descriptive.  I wish I could figure out how to make the snow appear white. thanks again.

You might try de-saturating the red channels, very slightly, Mike... (although this may result in losing a bit of the warm 'night glow' feeling..(?)
