Thanks Rycho, I am happy you also support my pics/art in real life

And dear Dorotha, thank you so much for your beautifull and supporting comment, but I was so proud of this picture, because it is not just a daily thing to see that a peacock shows their feathers, I even did say PAUW, PAUW, IK BEN MOOIER DAN JOU, this was a little rime I did learn from my mother, in english it is: PEACOCK, PEACOK, I AM MORE BEAUTIFULL THEN YOU, and yessssssss lucky me, he did show his beautifull feathers, I could make 3 pictures, and was very curious at the result, I played with it in PS, cropped, saturated and some other levels, removed a duck, but I show you the original, so you can get an idea.

So you can understand after acting like a little child ;D...>>> talking to this peacock, making it like I wanted it to have, and getting then 3 times a 3/3 without any comment, it frustrated the hell out of me, so that's why I created a folder for the 3/3 RAT(e)rS... kind of little protest, but wanting to have this picture in my portfolio

After receiving 3 times a 3/3 on this one, without any comment, I put

it for critique only, who knows, perhaps now somebody can tell me why

it was worth a 3/3... perhaps I can learn something, or perhaps you

3/3 raters WITHOUT leaving a comment why, could learn also something

I couldn't help but (1) stop for this photo for a longer look and, (2) comment about your frustration about the lack of comments from the 3 givers. That said, the photo is beautiful and well done; great job! As far as the "3" givers are concerned, I really don't think they have any other key than a "3" on their keyboards, spacebars don't count, so at least I have come to expect nothing from these "people" (I wonder if there really is a person??) that gives "3's" without some sort of intellegent input. So don't be upset with the lack of comments as to why "3"s were given, it may be best if you don't hear advise from a moron anyway. This is a great photo. Keep up the good work!!

Clearly a loser with no taste. This is beautifully balanced, composition is wonderful...try not to care too much. You can be mean annonymously on this site, but considering it's the internet, it's not a surprise...your work is beautiful, always is...best regards, lauren

Bill thank you so much, and as you have in your bio the sentence : "I try to seriously have fun with photography!" .... yessssss very true.... I always try to have fun, but what can I say, sometimes it doesn't work, but for sure I don't take this 3/3 RAT(er)S seriously, it is just frustrating, nothing more, nothing less

Beautifull words Lauren, very beautifull... especially about the composition, I thought it was worth to put this one, I did have a quick look in your port, and I directly could see you have a kind of style, passion for photography, and you want to learn more about techniques, that is important, but (for me) if you don't see it, you can have all the technique skills you want, but no picture will come out, and you have the eye

Els, why do bother about ratings? We all know that when an elephants pass, the dogs bark. But it matters little to the elephant. I do not mean you are an elephant:-) But we are familiar with your aesthetic taste and talent. So why you give any importance to the dogs.

This is an excellent creation, as if painted on marble or stone, like Moghol/Rajput miniatures.

Amal, you are such a wise person, I can learn from you, and I know, not to bother about the ratings, and sometimes I feel like an elephant in life, but also like a dog... I did google Moghol/Rajput miniatures, because I didn't know about it,(thanks) and it is very easy for an elephant to break 'things'.... like miniatures... ;D

was my 1st reaction when I see this. You have captured the peacock in all its glory with super fine details on the feathers & tilt within the frame really works here. Beautiful artistic work, Else. (can't be bothered with the 3/3s anymore. Just ignore them)

ELS, I cannot say why it was rated with 3/3s because I like it.

However, if you wish, I can guess why it received those ratings. I have encountered comments on images like this that are developed in PS (I call it developed as opposed to "processed" because I think of Photoshop as a digital darkroom where you develop your capture from your camera like negatives were developed and tweeked in a darkroom.).

They have people that have this purist/superiority attitude about photography and anything developed in Photoshop to look differently than when it came from the camera, these people despise. It has no reflection on the artist that created the work, it is their attitude toward photography.

You took this image and created what looks like an intricate engraving or pen and ink drawing. The contrast in tones is excellent and the colors are breathtaking and the background compliments but does not compete with your subject. The composition of the tail feathers taking up 2/3 the frame and on an angle yet being cut off at the bottom is very, very effective in communicating the massiveness of this tail feather fan.

You sell yourself short Els, you have a talent for communicating through artistic expression that many others only wish they had (myself included). As long as you don't become pretentious and arrogant, I wish you could have more confidence bestowed upon you; you deserve the confidence to bring you peace and less self-doubt. Its fine to question yourself as that can bring growth but you must not be shaken up by others' questioning.

Oh, one more thing before I put you to sleep with all this writing. I suggest that you stop putting these up for rating and just check off the "critique only" box, you have many people interested in your work that would comment. The good ratings you get on most of your images are not worth the anxiety the low ratings on a few of your images causes you.

Thanks Cherlyn, I am sometimes not so good in ignoring things, sometimes it is also good to react, keep things alive, but I can understand what you are saying, and I am happy you did say 3 times wow... sometimes also forbidden ;D

He Kirk, good to see you here, and you are almost like John Crosly...;D (also with enourmous comments) I will ponder your comment, and wonder after it.... or perhaps the other way around,

SJL, always good to see you, realy... always
