Marvin 4 Posted February 17, 2008 This Great Blue Heron was engaged in a life and death struggle for his lunch (actually lunch was for his chicks back at the nest). The Heron won but not before sustaining a bite to his cheek. Comments??? Link to comment

Marvin 4 Posted February 17, 2008 Of course "being there" is a stroke of luck. At the Wakodahatchee Wetlands in Delray Beach, Florida there are several nests of Herons with chicks. The adults spend a lot of time looking for food. On this particular day I was on my way out of the place, after a rather unproductive day, when I spotted a crowd watching this event so I joined them. I actually missed the best photo of the snake wrapped around the Heron. Link to comment
