vetterhome1 0 Posted February 17, 2008 Its a great composition: snow, water, ice and trees and all is somehow moving:flowing, melting, reflecting. BR Joerg Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted February 17, 2008 Thank you! Sometimes it is difficult to find these small views of beauty in an otherwise colorless winter landscape. I appreciate your comments very much. Regards, Dick Link to comment
timkeller 0 Posted February 17, 2008 Noticing how monochromatic your world is up there in winter has been unavoidable. I look forward to spring, but probably not as much as you do! Meantime, this shot puts winter to optimal use, finding some modest color, framing it with deep white, and creating an attractive minimalist composition. It has a strong center of interest in that deepest brownest water, which attracts the eye...but not the body! Nice. Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted February 17, 2008 Thank you! When I started my drive, yesterday, I had high hopes for some great shooting. The sun was out...for about 45 minutes! Then the clouds moved in and stayed for the rest of the day. It's snowing again...10 to 15 inches forecast for today and tomorrow. This is the bank of the Driggs river on a road called the Seney stretch. It's a straight road through wilderness for about 40 miles. I used Aperture 2.0 for this which is quite interesting and I'm sure will be a lot of fun. I am most definately looking forward to spring! Have a great day! Dick Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted February 17, 2008 I used shadow highlight to increase mid range contrast then adjusted the color bal very slightly towards yellow. Link to comment
rarmstrong 0 Posted February 17, 2008 Thank you! Your adjustments give it a bit more warmth...just the ticket for these cold northern days! Thank you for your input. Regards, Dick Link to comment
