And I am not only referring to the balloons and flags. :-) There were all sorts of interesting people all over. If you haven't looked yet, take a look at the two B&W images that I posted most recently. I met some interesting characters on the street. And when I went to a restaurant for lunch, a couple of people next to me started a great conversation with me, too. I think that something that I found very surprising, though, was the fact that there is no "open container" law (at least if it exists, it isn't enforced). I guess I've always lived in places where you don't see people walking down the street with an open cup/bottle of alcohol. Walking past people carrying these things in New Orleans startled me a bit at first. But these guys were obviously having a good time ... and it wasn't yet noon. :-) Link to comment
afs760bf 0 Posted February 15, 2008 Yes, New Orleans is a little "different." The attitude reminds me of an old Las Vegas, although the architecture is nothing alike. Been there several times, and never ceases to amaze. Link to comment
LindaM 2 Posted February 15, 2008 Lou Ann, your comment about the open containers made me laugh. i will never forget the first time i left a bar and was offered a "go cup"! maybe you didn't notice we have drive through daiquiri shops too. pretty scary really. Link to comment
