Hi Tony,

Great shot. What an interesting setting. I envy you for travels that you have undertaken. I hope all is well and Happy Valentines Day! Katherine

The building in the foreground looks almost as if it came from a "Miniature Village" collection. It is simply beautiful the way in which it is clear and sharp and the background a bit fog enshrouded. I also very much like the subdued colours...Bert

Thanks to everyone who has commented and rated this image so highly. I am indeed very appreciative. Besides my normal activities, today has been time spent at the dentist, the celebration of a life, and my 5km walking club participation.

Came home, signed on and was pleasantly surprised at the positive reaction to the image. I am quite sure that I have not mastered the art of knowing when other people will react positively to an image I submit for critique. I do promise that all who left a mark here, I will try and visit their images but it might be done over a few days. Some information about the image: In sept 2006, I took a 7 day cruise from Vancouver to Whittier. On the last cruise day it was early in the morning and while everybody was gorging on their last cruise breakfast, I was outside on the boat looking for photo ops and this one struck my fancy. There was slight wave movement on the boat so I increased the ISO to 400 to give me a little higher shutter speed and tried to time the rocking of the boat when there would be minimal movement as to when I would press the shutter. Perhaps I was lucky also.

Have a blessed day and thanks again,

This is beautiful and the color makes it seem timeless. Very tranquil scene. Congratulations!

Best regards,

Quite nice, Tony. I just noticed you had a recent update in my interesting person list. Then I opened the image and found a gazillion comments! If anything, I think it could tolerate a bit less black on the right side. Clearly, though, you have a winner here.

I too love the angle of the shot, it lets me feel as though I'm looking at someone's miniature creation. Very nice!
