One can be alone and happy, enjoying the quiet moment. I like the light and shadow on the body. A beautiful shot. BTW, I am currently in Australia. Next month I might be going to New York. I hope to be able to go to SF soon.

Well I may not be your Valentine but your spirit is too wonderful not to love. Happy Valentines Day Tanya!

Anh Thi.nh! It's nice to hear from you. Your self-portrait is "WoW". You have very beautiful, athletic physique too.

Alex! Thank you for taking your time to show me the beautiful city of San Francisco. I am still...miserable. I can't seem to get over this cold completely. It might be a good. thing, i am too tired to enjoy the city, so i just have to do photo shoots....

Paul! Thanks for stopping by. Validation to my work is always important to me, and i am glad to hear a comment from a good photographer like you.

Beng! I agree with you "one can be alone and be happy". Hehe! Perhaps, that explains why i am ...alone most of the time :o). I think, as an artist, it's very essential for one to have time alone to reflect upon oneself. BTW, can i have your unlimited flying mileage card ;o).

Anthony! Please pardon my neglect on following your artwork (i feel the same guilt to my other friends on PN, too). Thanks for your kind words, they lift my soul and warm my heart.

In my culture, i've never felt appreciated for being a woman of sensuality, intelligence and artistic quallity. Lot of time, i feel almost like an outcast among my family and friends even though they love me very much.

I can't help to appreciate my friends on Photonet who make me feel belong and validate my existence as an artist.

Thanks again for all your support. Valentine is in my heart because of each of your attention to my artwork, and to me as an artist. Warmly, Tanya.

unusual light and shadow "geometry" on your round sensual body . The texture of the fabric is a nice addition of contrast.Very well composed and lighted! you are a good model ;-))

The composition and the subject complement one another almost perfectly! The muted reds coupled with the mostly diffuse lighting really give this foto the "without valentine" look. Congratulations!

What makes this truely a fine portrait, other than the wonderful form, light (in several intensities, dang) and color range; you wore your glasses, the unseen Tanya being Tanya, without modesty or pride, just Tanya. It only makes you more mysterious. Happy Valentines friend :)

Everyone for leaving commments. The photo has its significance because of each of your attention. It was a moment of contemplation.

Francisco! Thanks for visiting.

Brad! I would do more B&W if i am as good as you are with lines, form, composition and tonality ;o)

Pnina! Thanks for leaving several comments. Coming from the same profession, i am glad to have a comrade who shares same points of view about life.

Thanks! Jim for dropping by.

Neil! Thanks for your beautiful, poetic description of the image. You read me well ;o). Thanks for returning to visit.

I do love myself. I think the best, most romantic and longest love affair i have ever had is with ...myself ;o), and it keeps evolving, never a dull moment. You are right, Emma, i know every part of myself because i love to take time to ...caress myself :o). Self-indulgence is great. I remember a quote from my all time favorite actress, Mae Wes, she said "Too much of the good things can be ...wonderful;o)." This is true esp. when it comes to nourishing the soul, spirit and creativity.

I am proud of you too, Emma. Keep it coming, girl.

Have a Happy and Healthy New Year 2009 to ALL. Remember, you can start having a long lasting love affair with yourself now ...if you have not started yet. I began with laughing at...myself quite amusingly :o).

Warm regards, Tanya.
