This really tells a story and is a wonderful shot! After reading your bio, I felt compelled to let you know how much we share in common. We're both musicians, we both volunteer (my husband and I for the Red Cross, but we work in conjunction with the fire chief), my husband and I also used to be HAM radio operators (our licenses have lapsed), and we both love photography and shoot with a 40D. And I could be a smart aleck and say we're both great photographers :-), but I won't! :-) We come upon scenes like this above often when we're attending to R/C disasters. This is one compassionate firewoman. I tried boosting the contrast on this just a bit, and I like the result. See what you think. And I still love your 'Swamp Thing'!

Hi Christal, thanks for stopping by and commenting. I would say you are not being a smart aleck , you have an amazing portfolio, I especially liked your photos of the American Northwest, Beautiful shots throughout your work. The Route 66 is a great find and I loved the horses reflecting in the water. So you are one of us who's words traveled across the stratosphere, around the world and beyond, lol. That is another fun and expensive hobby, HAM radio. You can still renew your license for free up to 2 years after it expires without re-testing.You never know when it may come in handy, especially in disaster work. And congratulation on working with the Red Cross, noble work indeed. And a musician, yes it sounds like we have a lot in common. About the photo above, I almost lost this from a windows crash, fortunately I got some really good forensic hard drive recovery software and I had also sent this shot to the fire fighter herself. It was a gray overcast day when the photo was taken. I agree it could be punched up a bit in contrast and saturation. Also, Swamp thing is one of my favorite shots. Glad you like it. :) Thanks for the comments and suggestions, very much appreciated. Good to see some kindred spirits her on Photo.net. I'll be keeping an eye on your portfolio, keep up the good work and stop by again. 73 Mark ;)
