aginbyte 0 Posted February 12, 2008 ... at any moment I can see people entering left and right, top and bottom, with a wonderful motivated back light source. Where is Tallulah Bankhead when we need her? Wonderful shot. Link to comment

jayme 0 Posted February 14, 2008 A little history. This beautiful home is owned by the wife of the deceased Jim Beam Master Brewer, Booker Noe :) "Booker's Blend" is his personal brew. A friend of mine has been restoring it. He asked if I would do a few photographs of the work as it progresses. I was very honored to do the work. I used hot lights, not flashes. It seemed to give the lighting a more comfortable, realistic look. They have multiple large parties a year here for Jim Beam. It has been in their family for years :) Hank Williams, Willie Nelson :) We have a standing invitation, but we enjoy listening from out backyard in the peace & quiet. It's actually really fun! Bob- I haven't seen the hard copy yet, I am also anxious to see a hard copy to see if I need to correct anything. I used my 5D. I refuse to take the Mark II Ds outside of the studio :( I'm just too much of a klutz. I shot this in RAW, so it should print out halfway descent. I hope! Ken, me too! I will email you. We really need to get together! I can't wait to discuss my new hobby, framing & matting :) I'm actually getting pretty good at it! My favorite part of this image is the reflection on the floor & the light from the window. The floor is pretty amazing in it's self. Edged with a strip of cherry. Really, truly amazing. Hand cuts in the cherry strip surrounding the railing to create the bend. I'd love to use the 100mm macro for some close ups. We'll see. The owner is elderly & really sweet. I'm sure she will let me come back, especially if I bribe her with this image framed :) She has a Jack Russell dog that I believe she favors over the house :) I may have to do an animal shot. Not my area of expertise :) LOL Thanks Ruud, Marc & Dennis. Yes, Dennis, it really does look like a famous actress should be gliding down the stairs in a beautiful gown :) Link to comment
zambaras 0 Posted February 16, 2008 A most creative composition, with atmosphere (enhanced by the soft post-processing) and plenty of mystique! The curvature of the fabulous staircase ending at the level of the center window forms a question mark between the white door on the left and the black on the right (which are creatively highlighted by the the white doorframes)! Very well done, Jayme! Link to comment
jayme 0 Posted February 17, 2008 Thank you Nassos :) You are right about the question mark, I liked that too :) Link to comment

jayme 0 Posted March 24, 2008 A great big hug to you all :) I recently rediscovered (something very simple, that I knew when I was 5) that a "hug" crosses all the great divides. Religious, cultural, racial, political, generational gaps, etc. It can be a very healing experience! So..... I am giving each one of you a big hug in my mind & sending positive wishes to all of you! Right now the entire world needs a huge grandmotherly hug! And as a grandmother, we can hold on just a little longer than anyone else without people becoming suspicious of our motives. So, because I'm a Nana, 5 times over, I can get away with this! :) I'm just a old, very free thinking Hippie (definitely not a Yuppie) & proud of it! LOL So, I hope you will hug someone today for me. Remember to spread those hugs around freely. We must heal this world! Remember when you were a small child & you needed a hug. For those of you who didn't get enough hugs as a child, I am holding you even tighter! Until all your tears go away! I want all the Wars ended, I want all the world to live in peace. I want us to love each other a little more each day. It's time for a Revolution, a Revolution of "Hugs". Sound too good to be true? We can make it happen if we believe we can! It's time to get some faith in humanity back! Continue Free Hugs in 2008 :) To those of you who know what I'm talking about, keep it up! For those of you who don't know what I am talking about, see this video: It's worth a million words! The start of the Revolution! :) Link to comment
