gordonjb 10,860 Posted February 11, 2008 Since this started out as a reflection of the sunrise on the water I tried to infuse it with an ocean feel by using a wavy motion as I panned. Link to comment
bretsch 0 Posted February 11, 2008 Ravishing! Another great addition to your portfolio, I like John before, think this is one of your most valuable jewels in your collection of images. Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted February 11, 2008 Slow shutter panning shot of the sunrise on a beach. Thanks for any constructive critique I am alway appreciative of helpful feed back. Link to comment
l collins 0 Posted February 12, 2008 Very appealing, papery texture on this. You're very exciting to watch. Link to comment
dseltzer 0 Posted February 13, 2008 Sunrise over the ocean never looked so good! Clearly, you succeeded in creating the wave-like look, not to mention creating a wonderfully textured piece. Your facility with this technique just continues to expand and amaze me! Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 13, 2008 I thought it appeared at first glance as some sort of cloth. Very interesting transition from a landscape. I generally find sunset/sunrise images pretty boring, but you have solved that problem. Although if I am reading it right we are only seeing the water, sand rock and grasses, at the time of sunrise. rachelfoster 0 Posted February 15, 2008 Not my favorite, but I think it's me, not the image. The bottom feels heavy to me, as does the top. Link to comment
jcpopper 0 Posted February 16, 2008 I can't "critique" this image. I can only admire it -- and all you've achieved with your "experiments." This is a wonderful shot. Warm regards... Link to comment
rachelfoster 0 Posted February 16, 2008 Well, there you go! I think it is just me and most likely a fine image. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted February 18, 2008 I wonder if you are still diving in the water or are out of them....;-)) Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted February 20, 2008 Thank you everyone for the kind and encouraging words... much appreciated. Cheers Gord Link to comment
godfather 0 Posted February 29, 2008 For me the darkest bottom part looks too dull, that misses that nice texture which i can see on the top part of the photo. But without it, the composition would be this good anymore. Ps. The orange colour on the middle section is really interesting, makes my eyes go there all the time. Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted March 1, 2008 I know what you mean about the softness and lack of texture in the bottom of the shot. It is strange that it came out so soft when the rest of the scene ended up with a strong brush stroke effect. I do like the image that way, it adds a second texture ( or lack of texture ) and helps define the line between the land and sea. Good to hear from you my friend. Link to comment
