dmo_galleries_chicago_phot 0 Posted February 10, 2008 I'm not entirely sure what this is, but it looks very cool. (edit...ah, I must have missed the title first time around...great work!) Link to comment

iancoxleigh 0 Posted February 10, 2008 You're inside the cooling tower? Regardless, this is am impressive image and perspective. It is powerful and engaging. On a technical note I'm not entirely sure what the overall graininess is achieving here and the blown highlights in the sky are also a tad too eye-catching. The contrast here is intense in the extreme. This is partly successful in giving an industrial/futurism quality. But, it is hard on the eyes. This is mostly due to the point to point contrast and not the overall contrast between the open sky and cloud for example. I can't help but wonder if this was not 'sharpened' a little too aggressively? Link to comment
iancoxleigh 0 Posted February 10, 2008 Ok, I just went and had a look at your Industry series as a whole. I'm happy to accept the graininess and the toning as stylistic choices that are helping to unify these images together beyond simply the subject matter. Overall I think it is a very strong and engaging series. I would say this is my least favourite of the set due to the technical issues I mentioned and despite the power of this great perspective. I hope to have a more thorough look around in your folders in the next few days or so. Link to comment
