I'm trying to be more mindful of actual composition these days. From that perspective, I think this works incredibly well. My eye circles around the two red signs and then ricochets off the lamp. It's also a great use of a limited color palette to achieve a very compelling composition.

OK what's going on.....you've gone from docuementry to creative as hell with the last two images. What are you doing to create these masterpieces? Again this is very well composed and executed, the colors rock, and the editing has turned it into a work of Art. I hope you printed this and "half full" as big as your printer will go. Are you using a new plug in or something in PS? I need to know!!!! They look like watercolor paintings. Shawn had better like them after his "David needs to get creative" remark, whatever that meant. Just kiddin' Shawn.

Thanks guys (gals). I'm really glad you like them. As you know, they are not my usual fare. Susan, read the response to your other comment on "Half Full" and it will pretty much explain this one too.

I did and it does. I hope you've kept a "road map" on how you got to these wonderful images. There's docuementary and then there's Artistic.....you do both well.

Susan: I forgot the road map, so not these are one of a kind. Better buy them now before I die and the price goes up.

Doug: Thanks.

This one just jumps right out at you. The PS treatment here really enhances the graphic nature of this shot. The nuanced detail of the headlight almost looks like a watercolor and makes a visually interesting contrast to the Police Gazette punch of the numbered signs.

Am I the only one who sees a human face here? Not a natural human face, of course, but a Picassosized face, with two eyes sitting on top of each other like a creature from Greek mythology. The red lips frame the white teeth below. There is, of course, the mirror red and white license plate off to the side, but, then, this is a Picasso face, and if you have suspended your disbelief up to this point, why suspend that suspension?

Jack: Yeah, there is some strange stuff going on here. They are having an exorcism for me tomorrow after the eleven o'clock service.

emmanuel: Interesting take on that. I can see what you are saying, but I don't think I would ever have come up with that on my own. Thanks

Thanks. Hope things are okay back your way. Seems like you guys have had some weather, and then the town council that got all shot up (I know, that was a bit south and east of you).

David, it's been brought to my attention, and there's an ongoing thread in Casual Conversations, about a website that's "illegally" downloading photos from PN. I found a dozen of mine there.

this is more an abstract photo to my taste. It's very likely that looking at this photo for a longer period of time would produce a dangerous lowering of V8 level in the body. There seem to be no straight surfaces there (except for the signs), and everything is facing a different direction. Did you have to take your camera to a doctor after taking this photo? Cheers, Micheal

This is a good case of necessity being the mother of invention (and V8). The original was just plain boring, and no way would I have posted it to Pnet. So out of sheer desperation, I started playing a bit. I'm not wild about it, but, considering what I started with, I'm pleased. Thanks amigo.

I love this one! It's one of those well composed contrasty images with color that pops right out at you...very nice!

Thanks. As I said above, it's just a little change of pace done on an evening lark. But I'm glad you found some merit in it. Regards

A superb image David....I like the fact that although it alows to identify the details, it keeps its mistery as to which ensemble it belongs...I like the treatment very much...

Welcome back. I've missed you. And thanks so much. It's a bit of a departure from my usual, but I was pleased enough with it to post it.

This is a very successful and refreshingly welcome side-step you have taken. I'm glad you let the playful creativity take over now and then and surprising us with a gem like this.
