This is full of pathos in the dramatic sense, operatic in its intensity. But it's only some dead flowers. What am I seeing here? Who or what is that lurking in the background - just a dream, another side of the personality of the similar flower in the foreground, the perpetrator of the tragic scene on the marble? Everything is in the mind of the beholder if you are good enough to make ambiguous symbolism that we want to find answers to. This is a very fine, poetic narrative. Or it's only some dead flowers - it depends on what the viewer brings to the experience.
