... this is so much the spirit of the Dordogne, Henri; the quiet, the peace, and the beauty. There is a reason that primitive man settled here early, and your photograph has captured that. What did Henry Miller call the Dordogne? "The cradle of poets" ... ?

Thank you for your visit Lou Ann. This place is in the "vallee des cinq chateaux" (valley of the five castels) which are The castels of Castelnaud, Marqueyssac, Beynac, des Millandes (which belonged to Josephine Baker), and Fayrac, of which I have already talk to you, which belongs to an American. The dead branch of the river Dordogne you can see here is just underneath to the castel of Fayrac.

I love the fresh, lush grass, such a lovely shade of green against the black glass stream. This is a calming, restful image. Beautiful.

Wonderful, peaceful scene, well composed. Great light and colors. I would rotate 2 degrees clockwise, look at the growth direction of trees
