dougbrill 0 Posted February 7, 2008 This is digitally modified. I changed the background. Does it work? Thanks Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted February 10, 2008 For me, yes, it works well. I think the foreground colors against that blue background is really beautiful and complements your two subjects quite nicely. This is very moody, and the colors elevate it beyond being *just* moody. The colors give it a sort of hopeful sense that I think adds a lot of dimension to the photo. Nice work. Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted February 17, 2008 Douglas, the faceless women is a reality in many countries. Despite the vivid colors of the cloths their personalities and nmany times thier value, are faceless under the blue sky. I don't know if this was your intention, but this is the connotation the image evoked in me. well done. Link to comment
dougbrill 0 Posted February 18, 2008 My intention was very similar, but not exact. This is an alteration so the effect of the faceless woman and child against the blue sky with prayer flags was intentional. My thoughts were more the impoverished are innumerable and so faceless. The blue sky represents the vastness and the prayer flags, the spirituality that most of the people hold onto and hope.Your vision of the contrast between the outfacing appearance (colors) and truth is very real and beautiful.Thank you so much for your comment.
