I like the vertical orientation with the tall straight trees. Again, I'm most interested in hearing about composition and color balance. Your thoughts are appreciated!

And again, I tried a square crop. I think that it is helpful to get rid of the blown out sky. But do you think that it takes away the elongation of the tree trunks?

Keep the skies, forget the squares.

 

Of the three images that are currently showing on your bio-page I like this one the best. It has some very nice foreground interest, let us see into the background and then includes the upper branches and the skies. The lighting conditions in the sky may not have been the best, but everything else is.
