There's layers, and then there's layers. What a great composition; and the color and lighting shift, layer-by-layer, is intriguing too. The location of this shot, in the details says "California," but I'm thinking this must be from one of your jaunts to the Sunshine State. Man, I do love your work! Thanks Chris for pointing that out. This is one of my favorite shots during a trip to Miami last year. After a torrential rain, the clouds broke late and lit up the grasses while the sky remained dark. You can see the wet sand! This is on the southern tip of Florida, above the Keys near a boat landing and small community called Flamingo. It is part of the Everglades National Park.
