Square crop to thank Chris H. in SoCal for helping me learn a better way to do B&W conversions. Thanks, Chris! :-)

I really liked driving the Natchez Trace ... just like I liked driving the Blue Ridge Parkway. It's a beautiful road, with lots of access points. I drove almost the whole thing from Tennessee on down through Mississippi ... but it started raining (hard) and became almost unbearable, so I got off and just hopped the interstate. Like the Blue Ridge Parkway, I'll need to get back there someday. I'm looking forward to it.

I suppose that I need more detail in the face of the tree that is immediately in front of the camera. What are your thoughts about this one?

It appears that the lighting was in front of you instead of behind you. You'll just have to go back and try it again. I don't believe that I've seen this much fungus on an old tree before. I believe this would be quite beautiful in the proper lighting.
