I dont know how much I could add to a critique on this. Just wanted to stop in and say this was a great shot and found it inspirational.

Great capture of the moment. You've done it really well, but I do find the shadow detail missing. Don't know if you could bring any of it back or not. Even without it though it's expressive and captures a lot of humanity.

My first reaction was to smile - especially at the hat, the glasses and expression. But then I realized that I am not in the same boat and I must be thankful for what I have - especially fooling around on PN at this time. You have captured a slice of life and the individual seems to be currently in their element and I am sure the sounds were melodious. Fine shot.

Too cool! Wonderful shot, and effective composition to boot.

 

One small nit - I wonder if cropping a bit tighter to eliminate the white cloth on the persons legs might remove one extraneous distraction - not certain about this, but perhaps something to play with?

Expression is fantastic, Composition is great and it needs sepia effect and you treat it wonderfully. SUPERB SHOT!
