davidclapp 0 Posted February 4, 2008 Guernsey's tidal swimming pools are a 'fine art' choice for many of the local photographers and make a great choice for clear skies. Check out more railings at Mike Brehaut and Mike Bonsalls photo.net portfolios. Taken with a 5D, 17-40 at 28mm f11 initially for 8secs and a 1/60th, but in the end it was a blend of three seperate exposures. Perspective corrected and some contrast enhancement. Link to comment

davidclapp 0 Posted February 4, 2008 Very much so, I was also delighted to have all my camera gear in one piece as it got hit by a large wave a minute after this shot was taken. NEVER leave your bag with the zip open at the coast... yet I did, what an idiot. You have never seen me panick so badly. my 1.4xII was swimming in seawater, yet all was 100% after some quick thinking and fast driving. Very lucky. And I would just like to say a big F&%K YOU to whoever decided to cain me with 4 X 3/3s in the last five minutes... Very mature... Link to comment

onur_kayatekin 0 Posted February 4, 2008 (+) *choice of long exposure time that gives dynamism to scene, placing of elements, skyline ,geometric details provided by barriers, rich tonal range. (-) *not unique,i ve seen diffrent versions of this scene, and they're likely similiar. *placing a living object make this photo more sucessful. Link to comment
paolo de faveri 1 Posted February 4, 2008 Just stunning, David. The silky look of the water is what appeals me more, and the wonderful light you captured makes this picture a true piece of art. Totally admired, Paolo Link to comment
rajeevthomas 1 Posted February 4, 2008 David, we all do that mistake!! Leaving our gear in the excitement of the scene but I am glad your gear is ok. And I agree with you about the ratings..idiots!!! They have done that to me so many times and still doing it... here the image is fantastic...I love the light every element is adding more to the image...great job as usual....you are an inspiration... regards, Rajeev.
