One Week, One Handful

A liver-and-roan marked German Shorthaired Pointer puppy, at one week

old. Still just a handful, and doing a lot of sleeping. Thanks for

visiting.

So cute that it almost seems like cheating: how can anyone not love this photograph? Focus is perfect, i.e., not too soft but not too sharp either. Composition within the frame, and the inclusion of the hand, make this a winner. But you cheated: it was already a winner before I considered any of that. It makes me want to rub my face against his head...and we've never even met. Shame on you, Matt. (And congrats on yet another great shot!)

Great capture. I like it when people aren't afraid to get up-close in the images like this. Even though it crops the head a little, I like it. Well done.

If you get a chance, check out a few of my shots for my local SPCA. All are b/w (they're for a fundraiser that is b/w by design), so they're not as warm as this. And I only had one puppy, but they came out alright.

Keep it up--

regards--

jim
