aepelbacher 0 Posted February 3, 2008 Those black spots are sand flies. Uck! They were everywhere. Anyway - I think that this blue boat was a bottom dredger ... lots of sea weed in Lake Chautauqua. I really liked the reflection making a double circle. I have to mention that on this day I had forgotten (GRRRRRR!!!) my cf cards for my Rebel. I have FOUR cards ... and forgot ALL of them!! (No need to explain ... that's why I HAVE the fourth card ... it's supposed to live in the bag 24/7 just in case!!) Anyway - this shot was taken with my canon sd800is point and shoot. I really don't find myself wanting to use that little camera very often. It works okay in certain situations, and certainly when one goes to a picnic or something like that it's much less ostentatious than a dSLR. But it's really the ISO settings that make me nuts. It's either "auto" or "high". Ugh!! Anyway - what are your thoughts about the image? Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted February 3, 2008 I think the image is really great, but somehow it appears to have been taken with a cheap point-and-shoot. Now I'll go read your description of it. 8~)# Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted February 3, 2008 My "cheap" point and shoot cost the same as the body of my Digital Rebel DSLR! Link to comment
joanbn 0 Posted February 5, 2008 Lou Ann, If this is the vehicle that you took a photo of, we call them weedcutters since, as you stated, there are so many weeds in Chautauqua Lake that, at times, it's difficult for boats to navigate. Not a good advertisement for tourists, is it. I've attached a photo I took a few years ago and I believe it's the same as the photo you took. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted February 5, 2008 That's IT! You've got it! Those are exactly the same things that were sitting next to the Belle at dock! :-) Thanks, Joan! Link to comment
