A couple of comments to consider since I have no idea what you were challenged with when you composed the shot but I hope it may help explain the low ratings. The exposure is fine. The tree/bush on the left side draws my eye right away and not towards the covered bridge (my guess as the focal point). May be there was no other suitable position to shoot from but my eyes follow the bridge to left then stop at the bushes. I am not sure what other options you may have had but just a couple of thoughts to help out- rather than those who just leave low ratings without explaination. I did not rate. Good luck! Chris

After reading Chris's points I studied this for a while, he had some helpful comments. This lacks some drama and I'm not sure how you could present it for more interest. Of course I like the red color and the subject matter but it needs something for more "punch". Of course I'm thinking cloudy sky here but it was obviously a clear day. If you get the chance Lou Ann try some different angles, you always do such good structural work. Sorry I don't have more "oos and awes" on this one.

No apologies, Susan - you offer great insight. I loved this bridge, but it was tucked in there in such a way that you couldn't really wander around it (I tried!). It's quite far from where I live, though ... and really out of the way ... so I'm not sure I'll get back there. (sigh....) I've got a few more shots of it from that day in my stash, though ... I'll see if any of the others "work".
