pax2002 0 Posted February 2, 2008 Mike, Excellent photo. May not be the greatest aesthetically, but for me, it tells a very powerful story about the collapse of our freedoms in North America (speech, thought, religion, expression, etc.). Great eye and story telling!! Regards, John in Ontario, Canada Link to comment
bosshogg 4 Posted February 3, 2008 I too love this one. It's always fun to see things in way in which they were not intended. This sure as hell is one of them. As an aside to John, I would like to point out what I believe is a common misconception, which I think often is reflected in ratings. When you say it is not aesthetically pleasing, what you are saying in this case (IMHO) is that it isn't "pretty." Being pretty and being aesthetically accomplished are not the same thing. The ability to induce strong emotions and feelings, reactions, and thoughts in an image means it has high aesthetic value. Frankly, I'd much rather look at an image like this one than one of half dome in Yosemite. This is fresh and provocative. Half dome (while clearly a wonder of nature) is a photographic cliche. Mike Marcotte 49,777 Posted February 4, 2008 Thank you David, & I have to say that my thought when I posted this was, "If anyone on this site would appreciate something like this, it would be Daid Meyer." Thanks for the look & the comment. Link to comment
