aepelbacher 0 Posted February 1, 2008 I loved the lines in this building, and with the wide angle lens, I like how it draws the eye up to the sky. I used the infrared setting in PScs3's "Black and White" tool. I liked what the IR did to the contrasts in the sky. What are your thoughts? Link to comment
WJT 619 Posted February 2, 2008 Yup, I can see where one would like looking up at this ediface. In addition to the sky (which I feel makes the shot) the strong verticals and overall symmetry are quite compelling. The flags are cool. I do not like the white glints on the windows and I would have removed them; but that is just me and what I would have done. A very slight rotation (about 0.35 degree) CCW is called for. Hmmm...so, Lou Ann, CS3 has an IR tool? That's pretty cool. My local, trusted filmlab has just told me that they no longer process B&W film :o( I like shooting IR a lot but it is getting harder and harder to find labs to process it. Of course, I could do it at home, it really is not to hard to do, but it is a question of having the time to do it. Maybe it is time to upgrade to CS3. Regards. Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted February 2, 2008 There are a thousand ways to present an image and here is mine for your perusal. I have placed the enhancements in the "File Info" if you download the attached image but here is what I did. Photoshop: shadow highlight command: 3 shadow values zero, Highlight values: 12 50 30, Color correction +20, mid contrast +53. Levels command: Black slider (one on the left) moving it to the right value of 17. Presented here as a constructive comment: If you ask me to delete it - not a problem. Link to comment
aepelbacher 0 Posted February 2, 2008 I am always interested in other people's versions of my images. Thanks to both of you guys! I like the heightened contrast. And, yes, Walt - I was psyched to learn of the IR feature in the new cs3 myself. If you're using cs2, I think you can get an upgrade relatively inexpensively. Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted February 3, 2008 You seem to have struck a chord with this image. Excellent shot but here I don't think the soft framing device fits the tenor of the picture. Link to comment
