sorry i am not seeing so well and have just one good arm to typue. by sheets of paper do you mean strips of paper running in and out of the fence? if so: the paper is "crepe paper", which is usually used for party decorations. in this instance the strips are red white and blue -the colors of the american flag. this is a paper flag, the stars and stripes, that the school children created on the school-yard fence. it was a day after the 9/11 attack. all over america, flags in some form or other were displayed as a show of unity pride and support for our nation.....the children had just finished making this flag and were running back to class at the sound of the bell signaling 'end of recess'. for just a moment this little boy remained behind and i was just driving past in my van. 5 seconds after i shot he too was gone....hope that answers the question.i am israeli; i live in israel; i am also an american.

It is a poignant picture, Meir.

I rarely say this, but this is one that MIGHT have worked better in color.

To me it looks like the photo is taken 60 years ago somewhere in America, or 30 years ago ...but is taken after 9/11 ....

I like it very much.

Photography is a magic...I am telling you...:) It can be a little Meir with his hand on a flag .

May best regards to you!
