Genesis Chapter 3 -1997

As some would, or might, castigate your for this type of work, I find it most thought provoking. Nothing erks me more than hypocrisy And to me at least, this image shoves hypocrisy into a zealots face. Kudos

Shane, Obviously the photo was not spontaneously taken on the run. The shoot was scheduled for that morning. The idea of this photo was hers not mine and she showed up on her own with a Bible. I took it from there; set up the pose and angle and requested Chapter 3. She was/is a strong Christian and found nothing offensive. But she was sure that my FAMILY OF FIVE was child pornography. We did only this one shot, it was the first, and then moved to a tent. The Wall Street Journal replaced the Bible -again her idea. She would not sign a release on the Wall Street Journal or anything after so I came home with only this photo for a morning's work. On the printed photograph every word and dot is sharp as a tack. It seems like a long time ago. Life was a lot better.

I like this photo very much, because it is not only well done, but because it prods my mind and my imagination as well. Thanks for the photo and for the response, which adds a great deal of interest to the photo, as well as to you and your model.

 

I am certainly not offended by this work or any implications it may present. And I am more offended by some peoples' use of the Bible than by anything in it.

Well.. it sounds like for all the little troubles you had in getting this shot.. it was well worth it. By far one of my favorites.

But , if it was spontaneous it will be much better...somehow I see it is a posing.

It is not offensive at all to me. What I like the most in this photo is that there is more of the breast and less of a bible :)

A picture is worth a thousand words, as is this.
