Another shot from Nov. '06. I'm not thrilled with the sky ... but loved the tile courtyard (?) in front of the building. The colors were a bit boring, so I chose B&W. Does the perspective work? (I did some vertical straightening.) Is the sky too blown out? Any other thoughts?

What a great building, statue and courtyard. And what a tough call it presents for orientation. The building really screams for horizontal but to get everything in frame and not be so far away, you had to shoot vertical.

What I might try is a crop from the bottom of the statue's base to just above the tip of the flag and never mind if it's not a standard presentation size.

And since you asked, yes I do think the whites should be punched up just a little.

I love the lights in the windows and the overall really sharp focus that allows us to read the inscribed words on the face of the building.

A most interesting combination of patterns, shades, and shapes. I like it!

Cheers ~
