This image was taken a couple of years ago ... I'm digging through my files to grab older images that I have, in essence, forgotten about.

This is my favorite building in DC. I have previously uploaded another shot of it, taken about three years before this one. I will be on an eternal quest to get wonderful images of it.

Anyway - I thought that this was a unique shot, but I'm not sure if it's too unique to be aesthetic. What are your thoughts?

First, when the heck did they rename this? It was always the 'Old Executive Office Building;' and they named it after Eisenhower? Geez, Louise. Now, regarding your photograph; I love the position of the building in the composition, but I think you've got way too much grass here. Did you move up closer to column and shoot it from there? I agree with you about the beauty of that building; I've been in it a few times for meetings (not a good place in the summer), and it has a zillion rooms inside. You heard about the fire they had in there just a few weeks ago, didn't you? Keep up the good work. Cheers! Chris

Oh, yeah - I heard about the fire ... was totally nervous. I have several shots of this from that morning. I was really taken with the light on the gold top of the statue. I was playing with my 10-22mm lens ... I have some shots with mostly sky ... and this one with mostly grass. Wasn't sure if it would "fly" ... but wanted to try it. Next time I'm in DC, I'll probably try to get some more different kinds of shots of it.

By the way - the name was changed in 1999. I still call it the "Old Executive Office Building" ... and made a point of getting the name right for this caption. Check out this article: http://www.whitehouse.gov/history/eeobtour/
