alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted January 27, 2008 Once again, I'm attaching the original. Here I applied NIK Software Color Efex 3.0 Pro filters Weird Dreams and Graduated Neutral Density to the middle panel, which I kept deliberately smaller than the entire central space. I enlarged the canvas and created two side panels with a pattern from a weed I found outside and then overlaid a larger version of the altered gull onto the entire canvas background. The groovy design filled up the empty top and bottom sections of the middle panel and duplicated the center gull softly. If I knew more about color dodging and burning, I'm sure I could have done a better job with this. But it's kinda' neat anyway. And it truly was fun to create. Link to comment

jcpopper 0 Posted January 28, 2008 Having slogged through snow for two weeks, I may be biased in favor of the mood created by this fine, creatively made image. Regards... Link to comment

katzpjs 50 Posted January 29, 2008 the developers of the software deserve much credit for what they have done, but i doubt that i will consider investing in it. the works you are showing are very nice, but i really prefer to find my works naturally and looking different. i'll be watching to see what you come up with in the next 9 days because you appear to be giving this trial period a very good workout. alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted January 29, 2008 Thanks for your comments and rating. Much appreciated. As an aspiring photographer - especially an aspiring photographer with a very limited budget - I can and most likely will do without this software. My photo hobby dollars would be much better spent on a 300 mm lens, a good external flash and a circular polarizing filter. Meanwhile, I'm giving this software a very thorough workout. Some of the outcomes please me immensely. If I were employed as a graphic artist, I would have to own software like this. The experience has also taught me that I can make similar adjustments in PhotoShop without these expensive filters. A bit more knowledge and lots of patience is all that's required. Seven days left on this free trial. Check back if you have the time. My New Photos folder is getting stranger by the minute :) Cheers ~ Link to comment
alberta_pizzolato 21 Posted February 1, 2008 Thanks for your comment and rating (although your comment means much more to me. Just your visit to my portfolio means much). Last night I watched a show about cooking in Greece. What fabulous food! Nothing like the local Greek restaurants I've been to are serving. You're a lucky man. So this week I'm on a quest for very traditional, excellent Greek cooking. And when I find it, I'll lift a glass of ouzo for you! Cheers ~ Link to comment
