Karl Schuler 48 Posted January 26, 2008 The "nest" in the center of the photo is a winter camp of nomads whospend the winter with their animals there. Mongolia has 2.7 millioninhabitants and 40 million livestock (goats, sheeps, horses andcamels). The most challenging task is to feed the animals through thewinter and spring months. The temperature reaches in winter below -40degree Celsius. Karl Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted January 28, 2008 Seems to be a harsh winter. The coldest I encounter is -30deg C. in Harbin & its freezingly cold. The Nomads & their herd are really survivors. Link to comment
