Karl Schuler 48 Posted January 26, 2008 Two weeks ago, at sunrise by -36 degree Celsius there was aspectacular sky over Ulaanbaatar. Thanks for feedback and rating. Karl Link to comment
color 3 Posted January 26, 2008 Cool image. Very dramatic. I have a couple of suggestions for you. You might try burning the upper sky midtones and dodge the towers on the left. I'm including a version of the picture I modified in that way. I hope you find it helpful, or at least interesting. Link to comment
Karl Schuler 48 Posted January 26, 2008 Thanks Chuck for your suggestion. I see what you mean with the left building. I can still not see what you did with the sky. What did you want to change with the upper sky? I appreciate very much this kind of suggestions, as I struggle still with calibrating my monitor after introducing windows vista and others my not see it the way I see it. Karl Link to comment
color 3 Posted January 27, 2008 The effect I mentioned about darkening (burning) the sky was a fairly subtle one. I saw it easily when I did it, but not being able to toggle from one version to the other makes it difficult to see. Good luck with Vista. I'm sticking with XP for now. Link to comment
Karl Schuler 48 Posted January 27, 2008 Thanks Chuck, based on your suggestion I have made some slight dodging in the building and burning in the upper sky. I see now the difference. Kind regards. Karl Link to comment

vikingman 0 Posted February 3, 2008 Great picture. I live in Ulaanbaatar and appreciate the difficulty in getting a good city skyline shot. Erik Link to comment
beng 0 Posted April 14, 2008 Phenomenon of nature very well captured. Fantastic sky, although the dynamic range is high, you still managed to retain good details of the foreground. Excellent work. Link to comment
