photodonn 0 Posted January 24, 2008 Thanks you two! I found this as I began my 2nd go-round through images. The first pass was pretty quick and while I was on the trip to Kenya. I'm very happy with how much is coming out of one trip, and it's interesting to see which ones people like better, and which ones get less of a response. I appreciate you chiming in. I'm struggling a little bit with different monitor presentations. On my Apple Cinema display it's so much brighter... even though I've calibrated both that and my laptop display, here on the laptop the face is sorta dark. I could have lightened it up more, or could still, but it depends on the monitor.... color seems easier than brightness, oddly. Ah, the troubles with presenting to the WWW. Link to comment

sbrauchli 0 Posted January 25, 2008 I agree with above comments. Very nice bokeh, what lens did you take this with? Link to comment
photodonn 0 Posted January 26, 2008 Thanks! Stephan, this is shot with a 30D and a 400mm 4.0 DO, with a 1.4 extender on it. That's how I got such magnification on such a little critter. I am thrilled with the lens, I must say. It's not QUITE as sharp as a traditional 300 2.8, which I used to own. But it's about as sharp as the 70-200 2.8 IS, and it's very light, only 3.8 pounds, so I can whip it into position in an instant and get the shot. And of course it's longer. Some day I'll get a 600mm, but I still won't use it as much, I'm sure, because it's less maneuverable. Link to comment
