Anyway - this is another from the viewpoint across the Susquehanna River from Harrisburg ... I uploaded a closeup of the dome a couple of days ago. I loved that the moon was just hovering right over the Capitol building. Not a cloud in the sky ... it was a beautiful day to drive on route 15.

I wanted to include the bridge on the left (does it pull your eye into the image?) and wanted to place the capitol dome in a good spot in the image. Is there TOO much sky, or does it provide a good negative space? Any thoughts you have would be appreciated.

Nice shot. The moon is the only excuse for that much sky but it's a very good excuse. The question is whether it's a good omen or a portent of lunacy in the legislature. It's nice as is but--depending on how much resolution you've got to work with--you might try a panoramic crop like I did with my shot of Baltimore ( http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=6587114 )

I do think the bridge is an important element by the way--the piers create an interesting pattern and it balances the group of buildings around the Capitol. I always enjoy the view of Harrisburg from the west bank whenever I'm up that way. The Susquehanna is such a wonderful river!

I laughed out loud, David. Lunacy.... LOL!! :-) yeah - now that I've figured out how EASY the stitching features in Photoshop cs3 are, I should do a big ole panorama of this scene. How much fun would THAT be? :-)
