Moon Shot 1-21-2008

This is really a perfect full moon. Great depth and detail. Its very interesting to see all the hits the moon has taken and all the craters created. Very nice!!!

Nice shot. I tried it before but didn't come out as good. You must know the trig.

I was undecided between this one and #1, because the latter has to me a certain appealing "mystery" element, but quality and the glory of full moon shine better here. Then it is too bad that in spite of overall fair detail, the edge looks somewhat irregular, less clean than one would wish, for which I surmise resizing is to blame. Admittedly such bright round edge against black is going to be tricky anyway, but (I am assuming you did not sharpen in the process) I would suggest you tried resizing in stages (eg. 2 instead of 1 for a 3000 pixel in width down to, say, 700), applying moderate unsharp mask (100%, threshold 02 or 03) before each resizing, which usually results, at least for me, is less apparent quality loss. Sometimes it seems nothing works, though ...
