Inevitability of Surf

Hi Sam, this is a very nice photo. The subject, composition and motion blur work very well. My only suggestion would be to shoot a second exposure next time and shoot for a correct sky. Then add the sky to the original so everything is properly exposed. I also think a little sharpening and saturation are in order. Just trying to be helpful.

Thanks for the suggestions... I'm pretty new to this and definitely looking for (constructive) criticism. I do wish that the sky wasn't overexposed, I was having trouble getting a good idea from the back screen. As far as sharpness goes, do you mean running a sharpening filter or getting a sharper initial photo. I took this shot with my tripod standing in the surf, so I might have lost some sharpness to shake. Anyway I'll sharpen and saturate and see how that goes.

It really looks sharp enough for a jpeg straight outta the camera, it just needs a little sharpening in post processing. This would be an easy shot to replace the sky in because for the most part, every transition is fairly smooth (eg the rocks).
