but the leaf doesn't work for me.

is the skirt blurred because of movement? The body is so sharp.

Great composition, I quite like the idea. Beautiful tones also. the only thing I find a bit disturbing is the light coming thru the window, a bit harsh in my opinion.

Congrats

I.

Love.

This.

Shot!

This is definitely one of those "I wish I would have thought of that." moments. The only thing I would do is clone out the little sprig of leaves on the edge of the frame. But that doesn't make me love it any less.

Great Shot!

I find the idea of having the tulip appearing as a ballerina's "dance skirt" - not sure how it's called in English - just plain fantastic ! :-) I like the pose too, in this one. But I found the pose and the straight composition even better in the other one that you uploaded in the same folder. Unfortunately, in the other one the tulip is sharp, whereas she is blurry - which I think is wrong. Here, on the other hand, the Depth of field you chose makes sense: the sharp dancer could have a blurry skirt indeed, if this skirt was blurred by her movement. So, I see pros and cons in this picture as well as in the other one, but I certainly salute your concept and the effort of conception and execution that obviously went into both shots. I'd be very interested in seeing a third version with the pose and framing of the other shot, together with a deph of field and focus similar to the present picture, with still a blurry skirt, yet not as blurry as it is here... Possible...?

As a side note, there are 2 other things that I find disturbing: the sharp leaf at far left, at the edge of the frame, and the fairly sharp heater, which doesn't look great in the background. Regards.

don't change a thing, its perfect as it is. Great idea of course but I also like very much how you used the light here which is farther emphasised by that vignetting effect. Great
