I do not know how they survive under these conditions with a

temperature up to minus 40 degree Celsius and strong wind and no grass

I am glad that I could guide you through some parts of Mongolia. Hope you had warm cloths with you.

I recommend to travel between July and September. Travel with an agency, as a small group in a Russian van, together with a driver and a guide-cook-translator. Sleep in the tent at a gentle distance to the nomads tent. After some hours their children will bring you milk and invite you to visit them in their "ger". This are the most memorable moments of your journey in Mogolia.
