thadley 15 Posted January 19, 2008 Thanks for looking. This is a macro of a Blue Agate Rock giving attention to the central portion. The way my crazy mind works, I see some type of bird or fish swimming in a cave. You may see something very different. Shot is taken and presented 'as is'. Taken with a Nikon D70 with a Tamrom 90 mm macro (F25)on a tripod in natural light from a window. The file format was Nikon RAW. I checked both my histogram and the highlights menu - the latter to make sure I don't lose any highlights. I used auto-focus "closest object' setting and kept shifting the rock until I thought most parts of the surface was equidistant from the lens. I switched to manual focus for final adjustment.I hope you enjoy the image. View larger for better appreciation. Link to comment
cherlyn 1 Posted January 20, 2008 Well chosed crop & composition. The blue are gorgeous & are like crystallised stones to me. Very well presented, Tony. Link to comment

kuzem 0 Posted February 7, 2008 Brings me back to grade four science class, always loved agates and geodes. Looking at it from afar, I see an elephant with a tail. Now that that's stuck in my head, I like the picture more. Technically, Its all perfect. The colors are the strongest part of this image. Abstracts are so fun aren't they? Link to comment
thadley 15 Posted February 7, 2008 Even though I have not mentioned each and every name associated with your insightful comments and generous ratings, I am truly appreciative and I am sure that I have visited everyone's images and left a comment and/or a rating.
