Karl, this is a handheld vertical pan shot with a 70-200mm lens near the short end. Shutter speed was about 1.5 seconds at f8. The settings vary a little but I find around these numbers give the best results with a steady downward movement of the camera. I had headed off to the woods in the sun but by the time I arrived it was overcast with low light and so I resorted to playing around with this kind of shot - no need for fast shutter speeds or a tripod.

Thanks Hanna, is it as simple as that!? I have to try it out, not pretending to be able to create such a harmonious master piece as you did, but only to test something new. Karl

Paranormal "feel" ...spooky even...BUT wonderful!! The lighter white mist that begins at the bottom and rises up into the image, appears as a path and invites the viewer into the scene. Beautiful!! It gets my "Frame It, Hang It!" vote...congrats....LJ
