uwestiens 0 Posted January 18, 2008 Very nice moment, I'm just not sure about the angle. Cheers, Uwe. Link to comment
Matt Laur 2,201 Posted January 18, 2008 Hmmm! The Dutch tilt - which usually contributes to a sense of tension - seems slightly out of place here. My wife, seeing this from across the room, thought perhaps the bride-to-be was being strangled. On close inspection, the couple is nicely caught, the tones are lovely, and the setting is interesting... but the narrative aspect of it, which is dominated by the tilt, seems at odds with the couple's seeming discovery of their engagement. I truly like the exposure, and just wonder about rethinking the composition. Link to comment
toddlaffler 0 Posted January 18, 2008 Thanks for your input. The past year or so I have been overusing the Dutch Tilt, so for some reason I am SO used to it that I just don't look at it really, but need to start toning it down. A lot of times I use it to compose the image better, i.e. eliminating distracting things in the background. I feel as though if I took this "correctly" it would have been boring and static. I see the tilt as "energy" and not necessarily tension. Thanks again. Todd Link to comment
