Guest Posted January 18, 2008 The sky is amazing!!! Maybe the foreground could do with some more punch? Curves? Fabulous shot though!! Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted January 18, 2008 Wow. I need to go there. I think the foreground rocks are just right, but the midground and especially background are too punchy. With those heavy shadows it's too easy to let the contrast get out of hand. Color, contrast & detail are spot on in the foreground. Also, the sky is green - great choice of clouds, though. Green sky usually means get Toto inside. :-) I think your B&W version is better, but there again I'd prefer lower contrast on the ground with the same punchy sky. The scene is all about shadow and texture; color is a distraction. Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted January 18, 2008 While both are excellent, I'm surprising myself by saying the B/W version is better. Something about the contrast and tones just make it special. Mike Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted January 18, 2008 I am with the majority, I believe; I think this image, while incredible in its own right; is presented so much more powerfully in your black and white rendition. Somehow the tones and contrasts become more evident in the B&W. All in all though, the composition is the real strength in both images. Excellent work, my friend! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
