lonebearimages 0 Posted January 17, 2008 'Whee, Doggy!' This is a fabulous black and white, Mark. Just an excellent composition, from near to far. I like that you are looking right along the strike of the tilted sandstone slabs; really accentuates the depth of the image. What a terrific sky to go with the landscape. Finally, the tonal range and contrasts are just superb. Very nicely done, Amigo! Cheers! Chris P.S. Mark, regarding your request for ratings; I don't normally do them anylonger, nor do I request them for my own work; however, in an effort to help you 'categorize' your images, I have to give you the double-7s for this work of art! lalit 0 Posted January 17, 2008 I agree. Lovely b and w shot. Nice composition, beautiful sky, great contrast and very good tonal range. The only nit gritty critique I have is the image seems slightly not in balance appears to leans mostly towards the left edge. But otherwise this is fabulous. Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted January 17, 2008 As always and even if I sometimes forget, THANKS for the comments Chris and Lalit, which I do appreciate. As well, if you would like to rate my images, I am open to this as well as it helps me categorize my images for other endeavors. I have often posted what I thought were good images, only to get lower than average ratings. This is very helpful, giving me measurable feedback. Lalit, I can only respond to your comment by saying that this was carefully leveled during the exposure. I did not use any shift-tilt though and this is a wide angle perspective so perhaps it might come off as awkward. Link to comment
lalit 0 Posted January 17, 2008 Thanx for the expln. I actually meant the distant rock structures which all are leaned towards left, which I think causes the illusion. Link to comment
Not Here 93 Posted January 18, 2008 Beautiful tonal quality and the depth is outstanding! Link to comment
brian_goodman 0 Posted January 20, 2008 Very nice Mark. May seem a little to "vivid" to me. But that could just be me. Link to comment
