whydangle 0 Posted January 16, 2008 Roxborough State Park is located 25 miles southwest of Denver, Colorado. While most people are familiar with the Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs, Roxborough is not well known, yet trumps the Garden of the Gods for breathtaking views. I believe it is some of the finest scenery in Colorado if not the west. I worked at a golf course that had these sandstone monoliths and spires as a backdrop some 17 years ago. Today I am remembering this special place as perhaps the finest moments in my life, living here, working here and playing here. I suggest you put this on your list of must sees, you won't be disappointed. Please enjoy the Larger view and I look forward to any observations. Thanks!! Link to comment
paolo de faveri 1 Posted January 16, 2008 This picture is stunning, simply stunning. I love everything of it, but particularly the perfect tone range. It's unbeliveable that no one commented yet, what's happening to this community? Cheers, Paolo Link to comment
lonebearimages 0 Posted January 16, 2008 My mom and dad took us here when I was a little kid. I remember being blown away by the big slabs of rock. I am equally blown away by the composition of your photograph; it makes me feel as though I'm on the ridge of rock in the FG and peering across the swale to the rocks. Fabulous tones and light play in this too. Your choice of black and white really emphasizes these tones and contrasts. I know its cliche, but this really has an Ansel Adams look about it. Well done, Mark! Cheers! Chris Link to comment
younes 0 Posted January 16, 2008 Beautifully composed and gorgeous toning..though I had to look at it for quite a while before I realized that: I think that the trees are too bright and compete with the rocks for attention. I believe this would benefit from a bit of burning of the trees (at least 1/2 stop). just my 2c. Still a gorgeous scene. Certainly makes me want to visit! Link to comment
