davidmccracken 2 Posted January 14, 2008 For Jim Wrightwood who seems to share my love of negative space and detail in dark hair. Feedback appreciated. Link to comment
divo 0 Posted January 14, 2008 I would have to agree that negative space isn't as appreciated as it should be. Fine photo! Link to comment
richard hans 0 Posted January 15, 2008 Soft lighting & contrast, smooth skin tones, splendid composition, charming expression, David, another tasteful portrait!!! Best regards Link to comment

davidmccracken 2 Posted January 15, 2008 Devon, Maybe we should start a club. 'The negative space appreciation society.' Thanks for stopping by. Alon, Thanks a lot. There is something that niggles me though. Shay, I am sure when I originally composed this shot all of her right hand was in the shot. I might be worng. However the fact that 3 of her finger have been cropped out annoys me. I am sure she must have dropped her wrist a little. As for the advertising space... perhaps a Robbie Williams song. Richard, Comments like that will have me believing I am good at portraits. Maybe I should try to take more. I certainly like the feedback everyone is giving me for this. Doug, I think you can join 'The negative space appreciation society' too. Thanks a lot. Thanks everyone I prefer comments to ratings. Link to comment
owen_omeara 1 Posted March 16, 2008 You have done a wonderful job with tonal separation in this image. The separation of the hair from the background is perfect as are the skin tones. As you know, I love hands and you did a beautiful job with the position of hers. If you are near NSW Australia next weekend I have a show opening there next week. -Cheers Link to comment
elisabetta moschetto 0 Posted June 16, 2008 Thank you for your comment, David...I must tell you a secret: I love Magritte! ;-) You have really an outstanding portfolio, full of humor, creativity and technique. There are so many photos I love, and this is just one of my favourites, soft and strong at the same time. Congratulations David...and thank you for sharing! Eli Link to comment
