How nice. An Audrey Hepburn 'My Fair Lady' moment to my eyes. I bet every young girl in the world, developed world that is, dreams of someday wearing a floor length satin ball gown with ruffles and pleats and long long full length dress black gloves at a fancy ball. Technically really admirable for this kind of cover girl work. Sweep of her arms and the dynamic arch of her back take it out of everyday fashion work.
Truly restrained subdued color palette seems to fit the purpose. Am hesitant for the moment to decide if the balls of gilt satin pouches add or detract from the angle swept arms, have think on that. I think it could work without the balls. A very fine piece of work for this category. Not one I could succeed at, M.Alex. Well done.

While I would never, ever take a shot like this myself, and probably could never do it if I tried, either--I can admire good work when I see it. Benedetto Croce indicated that one test of good art was whether the goals of the artist were realized. It looks to me like that has been accomplished here.

It's great! The technical photography work seems immaculate in my view, there's a real formula at work here for this type of shot which brings the content to life, in that manufactured way that's still utterly fantastic to look at.
In fact it's so beautiful it took me a while to even begin to think that it was a bit odd that she was holding two decorative silver objects, like a christmas tree ;-)
There's something to be said about why we like pictures of untouchable beautiful girls in the unaffordable outfits though I'm not sur eI have the answer myself.

Good studio shot. Dress texture is perfectly rendered and model skin is glossy instead. Good contrast in my opinion. And again, this picture show an impressive 3D.

It's very well done, and works really well as a commercial shot. I'd like to have seen more hair detail, though.

A beautiful studio shot. The pose is very graceful. Technically it speaks for itself. The amount of detail in the gown tells the story

Excellent. The only 'critique' I can offer is that it might look a little more natural if the model's head was raised slightly, just an inch. She could still look down, but that neck angle, combined with the angle of the close arm and her backwards lean, makes her look a little strained.

That's pretty nitpicky though.

It is a beautiful image with wonderful shape and light. If I were forced to make a suggest (not that I am qualified), it would be that it would have been nice to have a bit of detail in the hair and gloves. It might have got lost in the image compression. In any case, it is a stunning image. Nicely done. Dan

I might say that it is not a bad photo, but I don't get all the rave. A masterpiece? Why on earth? A woman in some unnatural pose dressed in some unlikely outfit with a dark bunch of hair like a big bird nest on top of her head. Why do so many feel that "they could not do this"? First of all, I woudn't want to do this. It's the kind of stuff you find in a magazine on an airplane. And what is she holding in her hands? Is she returning from a flee market with two precious little nothings she picked up for a dollar? Phleeease!

“Is she returning from a flee market with two precious little nothings she picked up for a dollar”?

Why so hostile with the “critique”? To be honest I do not envision this at all, heh…

I think this would look great on some glossy stock with pantone silver mixed in very sharp and crisp. Hair detail would be nice however I don’t think that is the focus of this image.
